Architecture addicts agree this 1931 building, "the home of art deco in Cincinnati", has an "unbelievably cool" interior with rosewood paneling and ceiling murals, and a "magnificent hall of mirrors"; even if critics cringe that "some rooms" in this National Historic Landmark "look like they haven't been updated since William Howard Taft's time", and others knock the less-than-perfect service, at least it's "right Downtown" with "nearby attractions" and an adjacent shopping mall.

It is gorgeous, the bar and the bar staff was particularly good.
In the morning, we were disturbed by staff knocking 3 times which woke us up.

This is a gorgeous hotel with real historic value.

The history behind it and the original decor.
Cincinnati felt like a very unsafe city.

This Hilton was the best Hilton we ever stayed at. It feels like you step back to the 1920's when you walk in the door. A wonderful place to stay. I am so glad I got the opportunity to experience this hotel. ...read more

Art deco interior design of public areas.
Bath too small; breakfast overpriced; waitress "forgot" how much I gave her to pay bill.

Netherland was a step down from the Westin. Art deco interior of public areas was very attractive, but rooms need work. Baths in rooms are too small.

It was downtown in a beautiful holiday setting with fantastic food and great atmosphere. It spoiled us.
Parking prices, but it is that way in all major cities.

The Netherlands Hilton is a bit of old Cincinnati in the downtown area. It was centrally located to visit our daughter at the University of Cincinnati and the price was excellent. The atmosphere was rich with holiday excitement with the wonderful events occurring in downtown including outdoor ice skating in Fountain Square. I liked the fact that there where lots of people in the lobby but never a line at registration or the concierge's desk. Everyone was always friendly with at the doors and a lady asking if we needed information when we arrived. We ate the Sunday brunch in the Palm Court and enjoyed the scenery, the activities and festiveness of the day. Downtown Cincinnati is a great place to visit and this hotel was great place to stay. ...read more

Spectacular decor in the public areas.
Incredibly thin walls. Narrow, oddly shaped room.

Everything about the Cincinnati Netherland Hilton is gorgeous and comfortable, except the rooms themselves (there was less than 3 1/2 feet between the foot of the bed and the wall in my room). Although the walls in the room looked and felt solid, every syllable spoken in the next room was completely understandable, as if the guests next door were standing around my bed. But the public area is superb and the gym (shared with downtown workers) is exceptionally appointed. ...read more

Excellent and friendly service, great hotel for the price!
The only bad thing was there was a used shower cap hanging on our bathroom door upon check in.

Very beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again, it was a great experience.

The convenience to downtown and the comfy king bed!
The bar staff is TERRIBLE RUDE! $21 valet nightly.

Everything was great except for the bar staff being EXTREMELY rude (so much so we left without ordering anything) and the pipes rumbling in the walls every time someone turned the water on. They did buy us a movie and provided some treats in return for the noise inconvenience. ...read more

The convenience to the city.
The size of the hotel room we were given. Extremely small, similar to a bedroom.

The hotel room was very very small. It did not meet the 5-star quality. The amenities were great, but the room was smaller than a bedroom. Very disappointing.
